Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese medical therapy, which works to encourage the body to heal itself. During an acupuncture treatment a variety of substances are released including endorphins, serotonin, and neurotransmitters. By accessing the body’s innate healing mechanisms via the nervous system, endocrine system, and circulatory system, acupuncture and herbs are useful to address a variety of complaints either acute or chronic, as well as general health maintenance.
In order to effectively treat all conditions, I add lifestyle and nutrition counseling to your acupuncture session to support your body’s movement towards optimum health.
Acupuncture is appropriate for all ages. Kids love acupuncture too. Most children and teens are very receptive to the idea of acupuncture. However, I also offer non-needle techniques, such as a hand held point stimulator, a cold laser, essential oils, and bodywork to accommodate all preferences.
The World Health Organization lists more than 40 conditions for which acupuncture is appropriate therapy. This just a small sampling of the conditions that I commonly treat in my office…
